The Water You Don't See.

The pinhole leak pictured was discovered only after the nearby light fixture in the ceiling below this drip began to flicker.  The homeowner had initially thought the flickering was due to a failing light bulb.

While changing out the bulb water had run out of the fixture.  He immediately called SERVPRO to come and inspect for water damage and help to find the source.  Pictured is what we discovered, we were able to get a plumber out within the hour to fix the issue.  

Upon further inspection, we had discovered that the subfloor was saturated and with the homeowners permission were able to perform the necessary steps to prevent any further damage from happening.

He was impressed with our professionalism and the fact that while we were there he and his household were the only things on our mind.

WHEN WINTER STRIKES!

While there are many ways to help prevent ice dam's during the cold winter months this bathroom took the melt back hard.

A few ways to help prevent ice dam's on your home:

• Ensure gutters are clean and secure.  Leaves and debris accumulate, causing a damming effect on gutters, which could lead to roof problems and water damage.
• Double check your attic insulation, making sure you have enough to prevent heat loss, which results in melting snow on your roof.
• Use a roof rake to shovel heavy wet snow off of roof.
